The Retroist featured this video of arcade guru Billy Mitchell and I thought it was kind of a cool/amusing quick hit. I don't know how much they may have edited King of Kong to make this guy look like a douche but I'm guessing there is a good amount of truth to it. Regardless, the guy definitely knows how to play arcade games so props for that anyway. Actually, I am much more uncomfortable with the drones that follow him around with that starry-eyed hero-worship. Those dudes creep me out.

by the way, I added the retroist to my list of podcasts and listened to an episode today. It was all about Pole Position. Seems like a pretty good podcast.
In all fairness to Billy Mitchell, I did some reading on Twin Galaxies' forums about the Kong movie. Their take of course is that the movie was edited in a way to make Steve Wiebe look good and make Billy look bad.
One particular fact I found interesting that I don't remember mentioned in the movie is that Steve Wiebe was the Donkey Kong record holder for over three years.
yeah that's one reason why I don't watch stupid reality shows - you know that they always overplay the personalities and sound bites in editing for dramatic purposes. But still, I've read some too and seen Billy on some interviews and I can't help but suspect that he is at least partially douchey as advertised.
